How the conversion works

1. Pick a document. The browser reads it locally — no network request ever carries your file.
2. The format is detected. Plain text, markup and tabular files are converted immediately. A PDF is inspected before anything else happens.
3. Copy or download the Markdown. Nothing is stored, nothing is queued, nothing is kept.

Why this converter instead of the others

• Your document is never uploaded. Conversion runs locally, so there is no server holding your file and no upload wait before you see output.
• Scanned PDFs are identified before they waste your time. A scanned PDF contains images and no font objects, so there is no text to extract. Most converters hand back an empty file and still report success. This one reads the PDF byte stream, counts the font objects, and states the result plainly before you rely on it. Supported input formats

Why does my PDF return nothing?

If the PDF is a scan, it holds pictures of text rather than text. No converter can extract text that is not there — that file needs OCR. The check above tells you which kind you have before you spend time on it.
